The hottest denim trend this spring isn’t skinny, isn’t bootcut, and honestly isn’t even really jeans.
They’re called sweatpant jeans — or as Business Insider dubbed them, “sweans” — and they’re exactly what they sound like: pants that look like denim but feel like your favorite sweats.
No buttons, no zippers, no squeezing. You just pull them on and go.
Celebrities like Eva Longoria, Kelly Clarkson, Drew Barrymore, and even Oprah are all on board, and brands from Rag & Bone to Levi’s to $30 Amazon finds are flying off shelves.
The Washington Post joked that the current pants landscape is “breaking your brain” — but honestly?
Women have been waiting for fashion to catch up with comfort for decades. Consider this our victory lap. In sweatpants. That look like jeans.
I always tell the kids there is a time and place for sweatpants…now the rules are about to change.
