The queen is back — and she’s winning. Tennis is big in our house and Serena Williams just had an amazing comeback.
Serena Williams stepped onto the grass at Queen’s Club in London today and reminded every single one of us why she’s the GOAT.
At 44 years old — and nearly four years after walking away from the sport — the 23-time Grand Slam champion partnered with 19-year-old Canadian Victoria Mboko and beat the third-seeded doubles team 7-6, 6-2.
She was hitting serves at 120 mph. She got a standing ovation before she even picked up her racket.
And when asked to grade her own performance? She gave herself a C-minus. Only Serena.
The mom of two said she wanted to play so her daughters could see her do it. As soon as she won they girls ran out onto the court to give her a big hug.
Serena is proving that your next chapter can be just as powerful as the last one.
