Rockies Continue to Spiral as MLB’s Worst Record Belongs to Colorado

May 27, 2026, 11:13 AM

It’s been another rough chapter for the Colorado Rockies — and unfortunately, Rockies fans are getting a little too familiar with the phrase “worst record in baseball.”

Colorado currently sits at the bottom of Major League Baseball standings after another difficult stretch that included blowout losses, bullpen collapses, and an offense that disappears at the worst possible moments.

Tuesday night didn’t help.

The Los Angeles Dodgers hammered the Rockies 15-6, launching five home runs and exposing Colorado’s pitching issues once again. Starter Kyle Freeland gave up nine runs in four innings as the Rockies dropped their fourth straight game.

The frustrating part for fans?
Some games actually feel winnable — until the late innings arrive.

According to recent reports, the Rockies have struggled badly holding leads, with bullpen problems becoming a recurring nightmare. Colorado has blown double-digit leads this season and ranks near the bottom of baseball in late-inning pitching categories.

And yes, Rockies fans have officially entered the “laugh so you don’t cry” phase of the season.

Social media has turned into a mix of frustration, memes, and dark humor. One fan on Reddit joked:

“If your team can’t be the best, be the best at being the worst.”

The struggles also continue a brutal trend for the franchise. The Rockies have now endured multiple 100-loss seasons in recent years, including a historically disastrous 2025 campaign that rewrote the wrong kind of MLB record books.

Still, there are small signs of hope.

Young players and prospects continue developing in the farm system, and the organization hopes emerging talent can eventually help turn things around.

But for now, the reality is hard to ignore:
The Rockies are once again buried in the standings while the rest of the NL West keeps pulling away.

At this point, Denver fans aren’t asking for a World Series.

They’d settle for a bullpen lead that survives until the ninth inning.
