Peak accommodations: Colorado hotel nabs coveted ‘Top 1 percent’ ranking

Not every hotel is the same, and it can be a challenge to find one that meets all your criteria. Yet, a hotel in Colorado has been recognized as one of the top hotels in the U.S. Travelers, whether they had a positive or negative experience, often share their honest opinions on Tripadvisor about their accommodations, focusing on factors like location, service and cleanliness. Tripadvisor sifted through numerous hotels to identify those that consistently received exceptional reviews for over a year. Out of the eight million hotel listings, less than 1 percent were honored with this recognition.
The top 25 listings were named in Tripadvisor’s 2024 Best of the Best Hotels, and one accommodation is right here in Colorado.
Coming in at number 23 on the list is the Sonnenalp Vail. The hotel, located in the heart of Vail Village, was booked as one of the best of the best hotels in the U.S.
Sonnenalp Vail is a luxury resort hotel at the base of Vail Mountain. According to Tripadvisor, the hotel has a five-star rating with over 1,900 reviews.

The hotel received high praise for its outstanding service, spaciousness of the rooms, luxurious amenities turndown treats and heated floors.
Yet, a common concern among reviewers was the price, which is not the most affordable option. According to the hotel’s website, rooms start at a minimum of $450 per night.
