In a season that has already seen football players shoes melting in Nashville as field temperatures exceeded 150 degrees, and the Broncos already on a record 11 game streak of home season games with kick off’s over 60 degrees, this Sunday the Broncos will face the heat again, but not in Denver, but in California as they take on the San Francisco 49ers.
The Broncos take on the 49ers Sunday at Levi’s stadium at 1:25pm PT, and currently is forecasted to be over 90 degrees.
That would make it one of the hottest kick off’s in the teams history.
The hottest game ever was when the Broncos played the Arizona Cardinals in September 2001, where the temperature reached 103 degrees. They’ve also reached 90 degrees on 3 other occasions:
- 99 degrees – September 1983 in Baltimore
- 94 degrees – September 1990 in Los Angeles
- 92 degrees – September 2018 in Denver
If the game had taken place in Denver, highs are currently looking to be around 80-85 degrees.
