New Colorado outdoor bathroom cleans itself

Apr 21, 2026, 5:15 PM

A new $550k “smart” self-cleaning bathroom was installed at Aga Park in Fountain, Colorado.

The unit features automatic cleaning, anti-vandalism walls, and sensor-driven, touchless, or automated technology.

The restroom features automated cleaning, including spraying disinfectant and water to clean the interior, reducing the need for manual maintenance.

It was designed to reduce vandalism and upkeep costs for the city.

Big thanks to the crew that spent several hours dropping it into place.

Includes automatic doors, locks, and automatic dispensing for supplies.

The bathroom will be open to the public in about two weeks after some concrete work and other finishing touches.

The adjacent Splash Pad opens Memorial Day weekend at the end of May.

Watch the Facebook video of the unveiling of the smart bathroom here.
