New bus lanes are open on Colfax

Denver, I’m happy to see those construction cones come down! If Colfax is part of your commute, there’s progress to celebrate—and a few changes to know before heading out.

Construction is complete on Colfax between Broadway and Colorado Boulevard, and the new bus-only lanes are open.

Drivers should keep those lanes clear and watch for ongoing construction east of Colorado Boulevard.

Taking the 15 or 15L? Instead of waiting at the old sidewalk stops along the reopened stretch, you’ll board at elevated center platforms marked by steel arches.

Use marked pedestrian crossings to reach your station, and check whether it serves eastbound or westbound buses.

You’ll still board through the front door on the right side of the bus. The elevated platforms allow step-free boarding, while benches and windscreens make waiting more comfortable.

Stations also include security cameras and emergency phones.

This opening marks the first phase of Lynx Colfax, with full bus rapid transit service expected by January 2028.

Future features include ticket machines at stations, multi-door boarding and schedule displays.
