A life well lived.

I remember watching Sissy Spacek in ‘A Coal Miner’s Daughter’ (1980) when I was a kid, and being mesmerized by her story and music.  Over the years I’ve seen Loretta Lynn on awards shows and honored for an incredible life in country music.

What always strikes me even more is her personal story. A marriage that started at 15, 4 kids by the age of 20 – six children all together.  A tumultuous marriage that lasted 50 years and music that details all that they went through.  Then on top of her career and marriage, a Medal of Freedom from President Obama in 2013.  A life well lived.

Loretta Lynn died peacefully in her sleep- 90 years old.
