June was Colorado’s second hottest month on record

June was hot. Really hot. Except for two days, June 18th & June 19th, the daily temperatures in June were all higher than average by about five degrees. The average temperature at DIA was 73.8 degrees according to 9News, which is 5.8 degrees hotter than normal.
Extreme heat was seen across a lot of the country in June. In fact, Las Vegas said that June was their hottest June on record. Phoenix, AZ and El Paso, TX also reported this past June as their hottest June on record. And according to the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, last summer global oceans set temperature records for the three straight months.
What will July look like here in Colorado? Extreme heat is expected to continue in the Centennial State.
