FBI warns Colorado E-470 drivers about texting scam

Another day and another scam that you need to be aware of here in Colorado.  The FBI is warning Colorado drivers who use E-470 that there a number of scam texts that are trying to get personal information from drivers who use the toll road.

The warning states that neither the E-470 toll authority nor ExpressToll collects any payment or personal information through texts. The FBI is also warning not to click on any links within the scam texts.

The FBI says they’ve received over 2,000 complaints about this scam since March. The best bet is to check your ExpressToll account via the actual website here.

Colorado was the 15th overall state for internet crime complaints.
