New fines for crossing double white lines begin January 1

Dec 26, 2024, 8:42 PM | Updated: Dec 27, 2024, 10:51 am

Make a note and paste it everywhere! Do not cross the double white lines in to or out of the express lanes all over the city. Only enter and exit where they say you can or else you will pay a lot of money.

Starting Jan. 1, drivers who enter and exit Express Lanes outside of designated areas in certain areas will be fined a lot of money with a small grace period to pay it.

I don’t know how they get away with these fines and “must pay by” demands but it is happening Jan. 1st so be ready.

The technology has been deployed now to all of the tollways in the Denver Metro area and along the I-25 corridor.

There will be no more warnings or free rides.

If you cross into that express way…make sure you do it in designated areas only.

During a 30-day grace period, the state issued more than 23,000 warnings to drivers who entered and exited Express Lanes outside of designated areas.

The fines, known as “civil penalties,” for violating the Express Lane rules start at $75 if paid within 20 days. After 20 days, the fine increases to $150.

20 days? They give you a 2 week pay period to come up with the money to pay the fine or else it doubles. Be smart and don’t ever cross the white lines. I made the mistake a year ago coming SB I-25 from 120th. I entered the lanes too late and the cameras fined me $75.00. They don’t care in the appeals department what your excuse is because they have cameras all over the toll roads.

Tell everyone you know that the express lanes are nice, but they show no mercy for the fines.
