If, and I know it’s a big if, you got lucky and got reservations to go to Casa Bonita in the next few months the menu will look a little different than it has since the restaurant reopened.
No, the old cheese sauce enchiladas, or any of the food that gave the restaurant a bad name, is not coming back, but the menu is getting bigger.
The new menu features newly added tacos, a burrito, and new dips for chips.
However, some items were eliminated, including the beef suadero, and the mole.
Previously there was only one taco on the menu, the carnitas taco, but now there’s a green chile brisket and chicken tinga, and a vegetarian option taco option as well. The new burrito, called “Betty’s Burrito” comes stuffed with green chile brisket and smothered in additional green chile. Finally, chips with salsa always came on the table, but now guests can also order a side of guacamole ($3.99) or queso blanco ($5.49) for dipping.
Of course, each table still gets a complimentary basket of hot sopapillas with the raise of its flag.
