When will Denver get its first freeze of the season?

October 7 is the average date of Denver’s first freeze of the season. That means the temperature drops to 32 degrees or below around this time of the year. If you were outside in the Mile High City Monday, you know we didn’t hit the freezing mark of even close. Monday’s low temperature at DIA was 53 degrees, and the high was in the low 80s. that’s more than 10 degrees above average for the first week of October.
With more of the same in the forecast for the next few days, we’ll be waiting a bit for our first freeze of the season. But looking back over the last few years, our first freezes have generally trended on the later side of average.
