Denver Bars Could Stay Open Until 4 A.M. — But Last Call Isn’t Going Anywhere

Jun 24, 2026, 7:35 AM | Updated: 1:28 pm

Not that any of us moms are making it past 10 p.m. anyway…

Denver night owls, this one’s for you.

A Denver City Council committee moved forward Tuesday on a proposal that would allow bars and clubs to stay open until 4 a.m. — a full two hours after last call.

Before you panic, the drinks still stop flowing at 2 a.m. per state law. We’re talking music, dancing and entertainment keeping the party going until the early morning hours.

The plan comes from Denver’s Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection and would be the first major overhaul of the city’s entertainment licensing rules in decades.

So what does this mean for Denver? More late-night fun for the entertainment district, potentially more business for local venues, and honestly, more options for a city that’s been growing like crazy.

For those of us who haven’t seen 4 a.m. since our kids were newborns — we see you, and we respect you — just know Denver could be getting a little more exciting after bedtime.

The full City Council still needs to weigh in before anything becomes official.

We’ll keep you posted. Now if you’ll excuse us, we have a 9 p.m. bedtime to catch. 😂
