Colorado kids might finally get a snow day
May 4, 2026, 7:00 PM
Grab your boots and dust off those snow shovels — a powerful spring storm is rolling in, and it could rival the memorable May 2003 blizzard.
Here’s what to expect: Rain showers move in tonight before a one-two punch of storm systems transforms everything to snow by lunchtime tomorrow.
We’re talking 4 to 13 inches of wet, heavy snow in the metro area, with 1 to 2 feet possible in the mountains and foothills.
This high-water-content snow could bring down tree limbs and power lines.
Tomorrow night’s commute could get dicey, and a Wednesday snow day or late school start is very much on the table.
Stay tuned for updates and keep those kiddos’ pajamas inside out — just in case!
