Butterfly Pavilion’s Rosie the Tarantula is retiring

She’s tried to make spiders less creepy since 1995 but now it’s time for her to “retire”.  The Butterfly Pavilion announced that beginning Sept. 8, Rosie the Chilean rose hair tarantula will no longer be available for public handling. She will spend the remainder of her life in her enclosure, but will not be available for handling moving forward. Male’s of her species typically live half as long, but Females can live 30 + Years.
