Colorado Springs’ infamous ‘Mad Pooper’ story gets TLC documentary

Only in Colorado, right?

TLC has a new documentary series called “The Mad Pooper,” and yes, it is about that Colorado Springs story. The one involving a jogger, some very confused neighbors and a whole lot of lawn-related mystery.  I lived in Colorado Springs when this was happening, and it was one of the strangest local stories I’ve ever seen. It was bizarre, a little awkward and somehow also hilarious. People were frustrated, of course, but the memes? Absolutely hysterical.

The series looks back at the neighborhood investigation, the media attention and all the theories about why a runner was repeatedly using people’s yards as a bathroom. One person in the trailer says it best: “A poop bandit is on the loose.” TLC’s “The Mad Pooper” premieres Nov. 19.  You can check out the trailer here.

Colorado has had some weird headlines, but this one is definitely near the top of the pile.
