The Colorado Peaches celebrate 35 years

The Colorado Peaches are often recognized as the nation’s oldest women’s senior softball team, founded right here in Lakewood, CO in 1991.
Only in Colorado do you get a softball team where the players have survived hip replacements, back surgeries, and 5,280 feet of thin air — and still show up swinging.
It’s the high altitude. It keeps us young.
They call Addenbrooke Park in Lakewood home, and today they were back on that very field for another game day — complete with a Game Day Grill firing up for fans.
These women range in age from their 50s to their 90s, and they’ve racked up over 27 national titles.
Here’s what makes them a true Colorado story: they train at altitude.
When the Peaches travel to sea-level tournaments, other teams can’t figure out how these grandmas are outlasting everyone.
That’s the Mile High advantage. Boom.
Founded by Greeley resident Chloe Childers, the team has grown to over 70 players across five squads.
Their motto? It’s all about age empowerment.
Next up: the Huntsman Senior World Games in St. George, Utah this October — representing Colorado with 24 players.
Knee braces, altitude lungs, and zero quit. That’s a Colorado woman for you.
