Here’s where to see F-16 fighter jet flyovers in Colorado on the 4th of July

Jul 3, 2026, 3:00 PM | Updated: 3:00 pm

The Colorado Air National Guard is going big for America’s 250th birthday this Fourth of July, and the best part is you won’t have to drive far to see it.

The Guard’s annual F-16 flyover tradition returns Saturday with a statewide tour honoring the nation’s 250th Independence Day. The Fighting Falcon jets will take off from Buckley Space Force Base in Aurora around 10:30 a.m. and fly a route spanning the Front Range to the Western Slope through approximately noon.

From Castle Rock to Silverton, the F-16s will pass over a dozen Colorado communities throughout the morning. Whether you’re watching fireworks prep in your neighborhood or heading to the mountains for the holiday weekend, there’s a good chance you’ll be able to catch them overhead.

All times below are estimates from the Colorado Air National Guard and are subject to change.

F-16 flyover schedule for Saturday, July 4
10:47 a.m. Castle Rock
10:52 a.m. Columbine Valley
10:55 a.m. Westminster
10:58 a.m. Firestone
11:01 a.m. Loveland
11:10 a.m. Grand Lake
11:14 a.m. Granby
11:20 a.m. Vail
11:27 a.m. Crested Butte
11:36 a.m. Ouray*
11:42 a.m. Silverton
11:45 a.m. Lake City
*The Ouray flyover may be impacted due to the current wildfire and active flight restrictions in the area.
