These 10 College Degrees Might Not Land Your Kid a Job

As a mom of two girls, this one hit a little close to home.
Listen, we all want our kids to follow their passion. We do. But we also want them to, you know… pay rent someday.
A new report from Finance Buzz is making the rounds, and it’s calling out the 10 college degrees employers are least interested in right now. And honestly? Some of these aren’t exactly shocking.
The list includes:
- Fine Arts
- Drama & Theater Arts
- Fashion Design
- Philosophy
- Anthropology
- Religious Studies
- Film Studies
- Graphic Design
- Communications
- Sociology
Now before you come for me — passion matters. Truly. BUT so does a paycheck.
Finance Buzz points out that many of these degrees leave graduates with significant student loan debt and limited job prospects in their actual field of study. Ouch.
As a mom of two pre-teen girls who currently want to be a YouTuber and a horse, I’m filing this away for approximately six years from now when college conversations get very real.
The bottom line? Research your degree before you commit. Talk to advisors. Look at earning potential. And maybe have a backup plan.
