Sales of music on cassette are up 400 percent

Everything old is new again, as they say. Once again, that holds true, as sales of music on cassettes is up roughly 400 percent in the past few years.

Artist’s like Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga have released new music on cassette, which has helped boost the outdated technology. Some say it’s the tactile connection with music they like as opposed to streaming, and that the drop in sound quality doesn’t bother them.

Keep in mind that even with a 400 percent increase, cassette music sales makes up less than 1 percent of total music sales. So, if you have that old cassette holder with 100 of your old favs, break it out and show it off because, apparently, you are right on trend.
