Six Colorado chefs and restaurants nominated for 2025 James Beard Awards

Nominees for the 2025 James Beard Awards were announced on Wednesday, and six Colorado chefs and restaurants made the list! These are like the Oscars for food.

The Colorado nominees are:

Outstanding Chef – Josh Niernberg, Bin 707, Grand Junction
Outstanding Restaurant – Frasca Food and Wine, Boulder
Best New Restaurant – Alma Fonda Fina, Denver
Outstanding Pastry Chef or Baker – Carolyn Nugent and Alen Ramos, Poulette Bakeshop, Parker
Outstanding Professional in Cocktail Service – McLain Hedges and Mary Allison Wright, Yacht Club, Denver
Best Chef: Mountain Region (Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Wyoming) – Penelope Wong, Yuan Wonton, Denver

Congratulations to all of them. Now, I have to go and try them all.
