Mt Blue Sky reservations open today

If you’re planning on visiting Mt Blue Sky this summer you will need a reservation. The Mt Blue Sky Recreation Area is set to open on May 31st and to get in you’ll need a timed reservation.
Reservations opened up today at 8am at Recreation.gov and can be made up to 30 days before your visit to Mt Blue Sky. Reservations are required between 8am and 6pm if you are planning to visit the park this summer.
Normally Mt Blue Sky’s targeted opening date is Memorial Day, but that date had to be pushed back a week due to weather and the threat of changing conditions.
According to the website,
Mount Blue Sky Scenic Byway (formally Mount Evans), the highest paved road in North America, climbs over 7,000 feet in its 28-mile length and reaches an altitude of 14,130 feet.
