Denver’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the Latinx community’s culinary contributions! These chefs are shaping Denver’s culinary scene with their unique backgrounds and flavors.

Chef Silva oversees three award-winning food concepts at The Golden Mill in Golden, blending Japanese and Latin cuisine. Silva hosts events for World Central Kitchen and Maui Relief Fund, earning recognition for his philanthropy.

Chef Manny Barella, from Monterrey, Mexico, recently appeared on Top Chef and is set to open Camp Pickle in 2025. Barella’s experience includes working at luxury resorts and the James Beard award-winning Frasca Food & Wine. Chef Barella is also the President of the Hispanic Chefs Association in Colorado, promoting culinary growth and authentic Mexican cuisine.

Chef Dana Rodriguez, a Denver culinary icon, owns Casa Bonita, Work & Class, and Carne, a new steakhouse. Rodriguez started as a dishwasher and worked her way up to become an executive chef and business owner. Chef Rodriguez’s latest restaurant, Carne, is inspired by her international travels and aims to provide an escape and fun dining experience.

Chef Curiel draws from traditional Mexican techniques at Alma Fonda Fina and Cozobi Fonda Fina in Boulder. Curiel, named the MICHELIN Guide Colorado’s 2024 Young Chef Award Winner, emphasizes the importance of food in bringing people together.
