Report: Your Fourth of July cookout is going to cost you more this year

Planning that classic Fourth of July cookout might take a bigger bite out of your wallet this year. According to a new report from the Wells Fargo Agri-Food Institute, the cost of food and drinks for a barbecue serving 10 people is expected to hit around $130—that’s about 2 percent more than last year. The main culprit? Ground beef, which has jumped over 7 percent in price, while the costs of beer and eggs are also higher this year. However, other BBQ staples, like chicken, potatoes and ice cream, are almost the same as last year.
