Would You Dump Your Friends for a Free Burger King Whopper?

Burger King is officially testing the limits of friendship — and honestly, some of us have a list ready.
The fast food giant launched a Facebook app called Whopper Sacrifice that gives users a free Whopper in exchange for deleting 10 friends from their friend list. And here’s the kicker — the app posts a message on each deleted friend’s wall letting them know they were sacrificed for a burger.
More than 15,000 people have already downloaded it.
Look, we’ve all got that one “friend” who only pops up to sell leggings or invite you to a pyramid scheme. This feels like a public service, honestly.
As a mom of two pre-teen girls, I will say — this is exactly the kind of social media lesson I didn’t plan on having at dinner tonight. “No, sweetie, you cannot sacrifice your best friend for a Whopper.”
But hey, Denver — if your friends list is looking a little crowded, Burger King just gave you the most delicious excuse to do some “fall” cleaning.
Just maybe don’t sacrifice your best friend. You need her.
