World’s largest bike maker pedaling its way to Boulder

May 11, 2026, 9:17 AM

If you’ve ever ridden a Giant bicycle, you already have a connection to the world’s biggest bike manufacturer — and soon, that company will call Colorado home. Giant Group USA, the American arm of Taiwan-based Giant Group Manufacturing, has signed a 10-year lease for 44,000 square feet at 3825 Walnut Street in Boulder, officially making it their new U.S. headquarters. The company is relocating from Newbury Park, California, and the move is expected to bring around 125 jobs to the Boulder area, with most staff expected to be in place by late summer or early fall of this year.

The timing makes a lot of sense, too. Giant recently acquired Boulder-based Stages Cycling — the well-known maker of cycling power meters and indoor training bikes — and plans to fold Stages’ operations right into the new Walnut Street home base. The new HQ will house corporate leadership, product development and brand teams, and takes up nearly half of the 100,000-square-foot building, which is owned by Boulder-based Conscience Bay Company.

It’s hard to imagine a better fit for Boulder, a city with over 300 miles of bikeways that already has cycling baked into its DNA. Giant’s own leadership said it best: “Boulder offers a unique combination of community, terrain, and industry partnership opportunities that align perfectly with Giant’s mission and business vision.” Under the Giant Group umbrella, the company produces bikes under the Giant and Liv brands — two of the most recognized names in cycling worldwide — and now those brands will have a Colorado address to call home.
