World Cup Fans Are Smuggling America’s Real MVP Home: Ranch Dressing

Jun 18, 2026, 7:44 AM

Move over trophies and team jerseys. Apparently, the hottest World Cup souvenir this year is… ranch dressing.

According to reports, international soccer fans visiting the United States for World Cup matches have fallen head over cleats for America’s favorite condiment. So much so that the TSA is now reminding travelers to pack those jumbo bottles of Hidden Valley Ranch in their checked luggage instead of trying to sneak them through security.

Yes, this is a real thing.

The TSA even had some fun with it, posting that ranch is “the king of condiments” and noting that it pairs perfectly with pizza, wings, fries, onion rings, chips, veggies, and basically anything else that sits still long enough. They also reminded travelers that carry-on liquids must be 3.4 ounces or less.

For years, Americans have been told the rest of the world doesn’t understand our obsession with ranch. Well, who’s laughing now?

Somewhere, a European soccer fan is currently trying to explain to customs officials why they’re bringing home six bottles of creamy herb dressing instead of local artwork.

To be fair, ranch does have a certain magic. It’s not quite a dip. Not quite a dressing. Not quite a lifestyle. Yet somehow it manages to improve everything from chicken tenders to late-night pizza slices. Scientists should probably study it.

The real winner here might be Hidden Valley. Imagine spending decades convincing Americans to put ranch on everything, only to discover you’ve accidentally launched an international movement.

Of course, TSA agents have seen it all. But even they probably didn’t expect to spend the summer explaining liquid restrictions to travelers desperately trying to protect their precious ranch stash.

So if you’re flying home after catching some World Cup action, remember: small ranch bottles can go in your carry-on. The family-sized jug belongs in checked baggage.

Because nobody wants their vacation ending with a heartbreaking security checkpoint separation from their favorite condiment.

Some heroes wear capes.

Others bring ranch.
