Women Are Banning Their Men From Grand Theft Auto 6
Sep 8, 2026, 12:00 PM
So apparently the biggest drama surrounding Grand Theft Auto VI isn’t the crime, the chaos, or the fictional Vice City mayhem.
It’s a video game girlfriend.
The highly anticipated game — dropping November 19th on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S — features a female lead character named Lucia Caminos, and players can optionally build a romantic relationship with her through texts, dates and other interactions.
Cue the real-life relationship drama.
Women across the internet are already announcing they’re banning their partners from playing, arguing that if he’s treating a fictional woman better than his actual girlfriend… we have a problem, sir.
The guys? They’re firing back that it’s just a game and the romance feature is completely optional.
And look — as a mom who has watched her kids name their Mindcraft charcters and watch them die — I get the emotional attachment to fictional characters. I do.
But also… if your man is more committed to a digital date night than taking out the trash? That’s not really GTA’s fault, babe.
The game hasn’t even launched yet and it’s already causing relationship chaos. November is going to be a wild month.
