What’s Up Colorado: Monster Trucks, county fairs & cookies this weekend

Looking for something fun to do around Colorado this weekend? From monster trucks to county fairs, live music, art, and cookies at the finish line, there’s a little something for everyone! 

Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live: Glow-N-Fire 

Monster trucks are rolling back into Denver with glow-in-the-dark fun, flames, and high-energy action. Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live: Glow-N-Fire takes over Ball Arena Saturday and Sunday, featuring fan favorites like Mega Wrex, Tiger Shark, Bone Shaker, Bigfoot, Skelesaurus, and more. There’s also a Hot Wheels Pre-Show two and a half hours before each performance.   Get tickets and info HERE

El Paso County Fair 

The El Paso County Fair opens Saturday in Calhan and runs through Saturday, July 18. Enjoy bull riding, a demolition derby, roping and racing events, family activities, live music, fair food, and more. Tickets are available at ElPasoCountyFair.com. 

Park County Fair 

The Park County Fair kicks off Friday with a full lineup of 4-H and livestock shows, carnival fun, live music, a beer garden, kids’ activities, exhibits, and a parade. The Kick Off Parade begins Saturday at 5 p.m. The fair runs July 10th thru July 18. See the full schedule at ParkCoFair.com. 

Colorado Black Arts Festival 

The 40th annual Colorado Black Arts Festival returns to Denver’s City Park Friday through Sunday. This free festival celebrates African American art, culture, music, and community. Find the full schedule at COLBAF.org. 

The Cookie Chase 

A race with cookies at the finish? Yes, please. The Cookie Chase 5K happens Saturday at Sloan’s Lake Park in Denver with start waves beginning at 8 a.m. Runners and walkers get a race shirt, finisher’s medal, photos, and, most importantly, fresh cookies after the race.  Get details HERE
