What’s inside Vail’s world famous $25 hot chocolate

A hot chocolate made in Vail is circling the internet. It’s expensive as far as hot chocolate prices go- even for a Colorado ski town. But keep in mind it’s not your average hot chocolate either. It’s known as the Haute Chocolate, a special drink made at the Four Seasons Resort and Residences.

While there are resort locations all over the  world, this drink is only made at the Remedy Bar on the Vail property. This is the only spot to get the Haute Chocolate but many people have made the trip to try it. The year after year demand for this hot chocolate was  so high they had to employ a “Haus Chocolatier” whos sole job is to make this “world-famous” hot chocolate.

What makes this drink worth the double-digit price isn’t just because it’s made in Vail. The pricey part of the hot chocolate comes from it’s core..the chocolate which Four Seasons Resort said is….VALRHOMA

It is a French company with gourmet chocolate products. While Vail can be expensive, even ordering the Valrhoma hot chocolate on Amazon is upwards of $40. The special chocolate is paired with steamed milk, and churned tableside from a traditional French hot chocolate pot. Then they top it with a homemade marshmallow, hand-crafted chocolate lattice and chocolate shavings. The hot drink is poured over the marshmallows, chocolate lattice and  shavings to combine into the drink….all that for $25!!…or $31 if you choose to add whiskey or peppermint schnapps
