Pack up the sunscreen and put away your “Kokomo” playlist, Denver — The Beach Boys won’t be making it to Pueblo this year.

The Colorado State Fair announced the band’s Thursday, Sept. 3 concert has been officially canceled. The reason? The guys need a little R&R before hitting the road again.

“The Beach Boys will be taking a short break to recharge before getting back on the road in September,” the fair said in a statement.

Look, we get it. We all need a nap sometimes. Even rock legends.

The fair has not yet announced a replacement act for the Sept. 3 slot, so stay tuned for updates on who might be stepping in to fill those very large, very retro shoes.

If you already have tickets, check back with the Colorado State Fair for refund information.

And hey — there’s always the Sounds of Summer playlist on Spotify to get you through. Your pre-teens will absolutely roll their eyes at it, which honestly just makes it better. 🎶
