Unlikely guest: Selena Gomez makes surprise appearance at Colorado high school

Singer, actress, and entrepreneur Selena Gomez is always on the go, but she made time to connect with her young fans in Telluride. While attending the Telluride Film Festival, which runs through today, Monday, the Telluride High School volleyball team put up a vibrant orange sign inviting Gomez to sing the national anthem at one of their games.
On Saturday, she posted a picture of the sign on her Instagram. The sign read, “Selena Gomez, Please sing the National Anthem @ one of [our] home games: Fri 6:00 p.m., Sat 1:00 — THS Volleyball Team.” In her caption, she expressed her excitement, saying, “They asked!! Couldn’t help it, it’s my first time in Telluride!”

Gomez also shared additional photos and videos from her trip, capturing moments of her signing autographs and taking pictures with the team, including a fun shot of her signing a young fan’s forehead.
The Colorado High School Activities Association also posted about the superstar’s visit on the social platform X.
