Tim Tebow returning to Denver this August — this time as a speaker, not a quarterback

Love him or hate him, Tim Tebow will always have a special spot in Denver Broncos’ history…Now he’s coming back to the Mile High City. The former Broncos quarterback will appear at Life Surge, a national faith-based conference, on Saturday, Aug. 29, at Magness Arena on the University of Denver campus. The all-day event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with tickets starting at $97.
It’s a different kind of return for a guy who once made 76,125 people lose their minds at the same time. Tebow was Denver’s first-round pick in 2010 and became one of the most polarizing figures in NFL history during a 2011 season that still gets talked about in every sports bar on the Front Range. He went 7-4 as a starter with a knack for improbable fourth-quarter comebacks, then threw an 80-yard overtime touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas in the AFC wild-card round against the Pittsburgh Steelers — a play that remains one of the most replayed moments in Broncos franchise history. Denver traded him to the New York Jets the following offseason after acquiring Peyton Manning.
Life Surge bills itself as a one-day experience focused on “worship, wisdom, work, and wealth,” blending Christian keynote speakers with financial education and live worship music. The touring event has featured speakers including John C. Maxwell, Ed Mylett, Christine Caine and Nick Vujicic alongside Tebow. When Life Surge stopped in Colorado Springs last October at the Broadmoor World Arena, the event drew 4,164 attendees and recorded more than 1,100 decisions for Christ, according to the organization.
Tebow has built a robust post-football career as a speaker, author and philanthropist. He founded the Tim Tebow Foundation, which operates “Night to Shine” prom events for people with special needs in hundreds of cities, and has become one of the most in-demand Christian motivational speakers in the country. He also had a brief professional baseball career in the New York Mets organization before retiring in 2021.
