I always thought the Northern Lights were a Canada and north thing, but in the last year alone, they’ve been visible in Colorado a few times, and there may be another chance to see them in our state this week!

National Weather Service Space Weather Prediction Center posted a ‘watch alert’ related to a strong geomagnetic storm that’s underway. As a result, Coloradans might be able to see the Aurora Borealis tomorrow (November 30th).

Colorado is right on the edge of where the Northern Lights will be seen according to the projected map. However, in the past when mapping has shown a visibility line that was even further away from us, the Lights could still be seen in remote parts of Colorado that are free of city lights.

Obviously the further north and the further away from any light you get, the more likely you are to see the Lights.
