The Lyrid Meteor Shower is about to light up the Colorado sky!

Heads up, skywatchers: the Lyrid Meteor Shower is about to light up the Colorado sky!   The Lyrid meteor shower is one of the oldest recorded celestial events, and it’s almost here! At its peak, you’ll get to witness an awesome display of shooting stars.    The Lyrids usually produce around 10 to 30 meteors per hour, sometimes more! They’re active each year from about April 16 through the 25th, with the peak coming the night of Tuesday, April 21, into the early morning of Wednesday, April 22.
For the best viewing, head outside late evening on April 21 and stick around through the predawn hours of April 22. Find a dark location, let your eyes adjust for a bit and enjoy the show!
