Brother-sister duo keep stamp culture alive in Denver with family business

Aug 28, 2026, 8:01 AM | Updated: 3:45 pm

Okay, so while the rest of us are out here drowning in digital signatures and DocuSign notifications, Chris and Linda Hansen are keeping it gloriously old school in downtown Denver.

The brother-sister duo are the last two employees standing at Ace Kauffman Rubber Stamp and Seal Co. — a family business that has somehow survived 154 years, which, for reference, is older than everything.

The Hansens, both in their 60s, have weathered it all — fewer orders, rising minimum wages, a city that looks nothing like it used to. And yet? Still open. Still stamping.

Their secret? Low overhead and a laser focus on personalized stamps and seal embossers — you know, the fancy ones that make official documents feel official.

No retirement plans in sight, either. These two are simply…out here doing their thing, which honestly feels like the most wholesome story Denver has served up in a while.

So next time you need a custom stamp — maybe for your kid’s homework folders or your HOA passive-aggressive notices — you know where to go.
