Regis Jesuit High School recently dedicated its swimming pool in honor of Missy Franklin, a 2013 alumna and six-time Olympic medalist.
The ceremony took place on Thursday, April 25. Franklin, who achieved remarkable success in swimming, is the first female graduate to receive such an honor from the school. During the dedication event, members of Franklin’s family, her coaches, and the 2023-24 girls and boys swim and dive teams were present.
Franklin also had the privilege of presenting the school’s annual athletics award, which is named in her honor, to senior basketball standout Hana Belibi. Additionally, the Missy Franklin ’13 Endowed Scholarship was announced, thanks to a generous gift from fellow alum John Sheridan. This scholarship will be awarded annually to a female student at Regis Jesuit High School.
After the dedication ceremony, Franklin engaged in a moderated Q&A assembly with the entire school body, and attended a reception on campus.
