A former CDC director is warning that blueberries and raspberries in the U.S. may be contaminated with a parasite called cyclospora — and before you Google it, just know it’s being described as “explosive” and leave it at that. You’re welcome.

More than 22,000 people across 47 states have already gotten sick. 47 states.

Former CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield is urging everyone to be cautious about raw fruits and vegetables right now, saying — and this is a direct quote — “The best thing obviously is to be cautious about the raw vegetables you are eating right now.”

What you should do right now:

  • Wash all produce thoroughly
  • Check the CDC website for updates
  • Maybe cook those berries for now
  • Panic-eat the whole container before reading this — too late, probably
