Plan your commute: Full closures expected on US 85 to C-470 flyover.
If you plan to travel south on US 85 and take the C-470 flyover east, you’ll want to plan for full closures related to paving after Memorial Day.
From 7 p.m. Friday, May 31, through 5 a.m. Tuesday, June 4 (the weekend following Memorial Day weekend), crews will pave the new roadway along southbound US 85 (Santa Fe Drive) and onto the existing on-ramp to eastbound C-470. There will be no access to eastbound C-470 from southbound US 85 during this work.
Motorists are advised to detour west on C-470 to Wadsworth Boulevard and back onto eastbound C-470. Access from northbound US 85 to eastbound C-470 will remain open. See detour information.
Throughout the next year, crews will pave more than 100,000 tons of asphalt on more than 2 miles of roadway as part of the US 85 Widening Project in Douglas County. The project, which includes roadway and interchange reconstruction, will alleviate traffic and create safer travel from Highlands Ranch Parkway to north of C-470.
Please give yourself extra time to navigate expected traffic along detour routes and pay attention to posted speed limits and signage.
If weather conditions do not allow this work to take place as scheduled, crews will conduct this work at a later date.
Please watch for crews, heavy paving machinery and trucks entering and exiting the work zone. Heed the speed limit and avoid distracted driving in the work zone.
Three of Colorado’s scenic mountain highways will remain closed over Memorial Day weekend
