New geodesic dome resort opens in Blackhawk

Jun 12, 2026, 3:13 PM

If you’re not a sleeping-bag-on-the-ground, sleep-in-a-tent, pee-in-the-woods type of person like myself, I have just the place for you to visit this summer.

A brand new glamping resort has opened just 40 minutes from Denver, and it might be the most stunning overnight stay in Colorado. The Nest at Black Hawk is now welcoming guests to its collection of 27 custom-built geodesic domes perched above Black Hawk, offering what the resort calls an “Elevated Mountain Stay,” and that’s not an exaggeration.

These aren’t your typical camping setups. Each dome is designed to deliver all the comforts of home with a front-row view of the Rocky Mountains. Floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows and the dome’s geometric shape create a seamless blend of indoor luxury and outdoor beauty, whether you’re an early riser catching the sunrise with a cup of coffee, a sunset chaser soaking in Colorado’s golden hour or a stargazer watching the night sky from the comfort of your bed.

What’s inside each dome:
Queen-size bed
Full-size loft bed
Kitchenette
En-suite private bathroom
Heating and air conditioning
Luxury bedding and linens

But the amenities don’t stop at the dome door. The Nest also offers in-dome wellness services, including massage, as well as group classes like yoga, breathwork and meditation. And with Black Hawk just minutes away, the resort provides guests with a curated list of local attractions and dining to round out the stay.

Whether you’re planning a weekend escape, a romantic getaway, or just need a reset somewhere beautiful, The Nest at Black Hawk is one of the most unique stays to open in Colorado in years. Summer availability is filling up. Check out The Nest at Black Hawk for booking and more details.
