Aug 24, 2026, 3:55 PM

The National Park Service is celebrating its 110th anniversary on August 25, and you’ll be able to enjoy free entry to celebrate along!

On their website, they say the National Park Service was created to “preserve unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the National Park System for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations.”

You’ll be able to get free entry into the four national parks here in Colorado:

  • Rocky Mountain National Park
  • Mesa Verde National Park
  • Great Sand Dunes National Park
  • Black Canyon of the Gunnison

13 additional national monuments, trails and historic sites will also be free, including Hovenweep National Monument, Florissant Fossil beds and more.

Additional free days for the rest of the year include:

  • September 17: Constitution Day
  • October 27: Theodore Roosevelt’s Birthday
  • November 11: Veterans day

Free entrance will only be available for US citizens and residents only.
