Mariah Carey wins copyright lawsuit

Looks like Mariah Carey’s holiday reign remains unchallenged! A judge recently put the kibosh on a $20 million lawsuit from Andy Stone, who claimed her iconic hit “All I Want For Christmas Is You” borrowed a bit too much from his 1989 song of the same name. Stone, whose version was performed by Vince Vance & the Valiants, argued that its radio success and Billboard presence inspired Mariah’s yuletide anthem. But in the courtroom showdown, the judge decided that the two tracks only shared festive vibes and some holiday clichés. So, Mariah keeps her Christmas crown!
