Man who created the Lightsaber inducted into Inventors Hall of Fame

Lanny Smoot is a boy from Brooklyn who loved to see things light up! When he was 6 years old, his father brought home a light, some batteries, a bell and a wire and made it light up which rang the bell and Lanny was hooked! 

60 years later, Lanny has created some of your favorite things at Walt Disney World. He has over 106 patents including the Koi Pond, the floating ghosts in The Haunted Mansion and THE LIGHTSABER!!!

Lanny Smoot is only the 2nd person to be inducted into the Inventors Hall of Fame from Disney Co. Lanny joins a very small list right next to his boss, Walt Disney himself.
