How much less Caitlyn Clark could make than male NBA counterpart

Women’s college basketball had record viewers this past year and one person is to thank.  University of Iowa star, Caitlyn Clark, is the reason for the record breaking women’s college basketball viewership. The 2024 women’s NCAA tournament had a record viewership of 18.7 Million.  It is now the most watched basketball game since 2019.

Clark will join the WNBA draft and early predictions are that she’ll go to the Indiana Fever to play.  Per WNBA rules, Clark will make around $76,535 in salary her first year.  She is expected to make millions in endorsements, but the salary is a far cry from male counterparts joining the draft for the NBA.

Last year the #1 draft for the NBA made a projected 10.13 million.  Clark won’t even make 1% of that amount in salary.
