Thanks to Simone Biles and her Netflix documentary she may finally have some justice!
US gymnast Jordan Chiles has appealed to the Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland after losing her bronze medal in the women’s floor event at the Paris Olympics.
Chiles originally finished third but was stripped of the medal in favor of Romania’s Ana Barbosu due to a ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The decision was based on a technicality regarding the timing of an inquiry into Chiles’ score by her coach.
Chiles’ lawyers argue that CAS did not consider evidence proving the inquiry was submitted on time, while US media raised concerns about potential bias in the appeal process. CAS has refuted claims of bias and upheld the decision to award the medal to Barbosu.
The videos are pretty solid that she deserved that medal and I hope she gets compensation for all the emotional trauma too!
