Jay-Z may be taking the phrase “if you want something done right, do it yourself” very seriously.
According to TMZ, Jay-Z has allegedly chosen himself to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show at SoFi Stadium. The game is scheduled for Feb. 14.
The report says Jay-Z considered the decision for weeks before deciding he was the more compelling choice over Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber, who were both believed to be frontrunners.
Subtle? No. Confident? Extremely.
Jay-Z has been involved in helping shape the NFL’s halftime entertainment in recent years, so if the report is true, this would be a pretty major move — and definitely one people will talk about.
No official announcement has been made yet, so fans will have to wait and see whether Jay-Z really is heading to the halftime stage.
But honestly, choosing yourself over Miley and Bieber is the kind of self-confidence I need when I’m standing in the school drop-off line wearing yesterday’s mascara and pretending I have my life together.
