How “cool” is this idea? (pun intended) Love that this is getting national attention and maybe helps other zoos and sanctuaries keep the animals more comfortable!

Denver Zoo keeps animals cool with bloodsicles!

NBC says the Denver Zoo is using bloodsicles to keep animals cool during the current Summer heatwave.

Zookeepers freeze animal blood in popsicle molds for the lions and other carnivores.  The zoo also uses misters, fans, and other frozen treats to help animals beat the heat.

Kind of gross but again super glad they are caring for their animals!!
