We know life can get in the way and that’s why we created a Teddy Bear Patrol Wish List on Amazon, where you can purchase stuffed animals and have them shipped directly to KOSI 101.1. That’s right! No going to the store, no driving to a drop off location. You can still help from the comfort of your couch and the kindness in your heart! Click here to purchase stuffed animals.
Why We Have a Teddy Bear Patrol
Sometimes the smallest act of kindness can have the biggest impact. That’s the underlying goal of the annual Teddy Bear Patrol community promotion on KOSI 101.1 FM. When first responders arrive on the scene of an emergency in which a child is involved, it can be a traumatic event for that child. If the first responder could go to the trunk of his or her vehicle and hand that child a teddy bear to ease his or her anxiety, it goes a long way. The same happens if a child arrives to the emergency department. If hospital teams can hand them a teddy bear to cuddle, the child becomes less anxious and more open to needed medical care.
