Independence Day drone show set to soar over Denver, replacing fireworks

Jul 1, 2024, 11:23 AM | Updated: Jul 5, 2024, 9:09 am

This year, Denver’s Indy Eve event on July 3 will bring in some exciting new elements. However, one thing that won’t be included is a firework show, which has been a tradition in the past. Instead, the sky over Lincoln Veterans Memorial Park will be illuminated by around 300 drones.

According to the Civic Center Park website, this will be the largest drone show ever witnessed in Denver. In addition to the mesmerizing drone display, attendees will also be treated to a live performance by the Colorado Symphony Brass & Percussion Ensemble, as Attendees will also see a live performance from the Colorado Symphony Brass & Percussion Ensemble, and two different light shows projected on Civic Center Park’s structures.

“We are excited to reimagine Denver’s premier celebration of community, culture, and country with a visual spectacular like nothing ever seen in downtown Denver,” said Eric Lazzari, executive director of Civic Center Conservancy.

“Indy Eve is a beloved tradition in Denver, and we want to honor this unique celebration even as we incorporate some new experiences. We are appreciative of our City partners for empowering this tradition of gathering as a community in Civic Center Park to celebrate as we elevate artists, musicians and youth.”

The event will also have a night market with local businesses, food trucks and DJs.

The park will be fenced to ensure the safety of attendees, and individuals will be subject to a security screening at all designated event entrances.

The main entrance is on Broadway between Colfax and 14th Avenue.
